Cito Netherlands
In the Netherlands Cito serves both the public and the business community. Although best known as one of the leading makers of tests and exams, Cito also develops monitoring and evaluation systems, conducts research into performance levels and measurement, and assists with a wide range of training programmes.
Cito produces a wide range of products and services designed specifically for the Dutch community, including:
- End of primary school test: this exam is annually administered to approximately 160,000 final year primary school pupils in the Netherlands.
- National final examinations for secondary education: in conjunction with the Ministry for Science, Culture and Education, Cito produces over 500 different exams, which are taken by over 200,000 students annually.
- Monitoring and evaluation system for pupils: Virtually all primary schools in the Netherlands use one or more products offered by the monitoring and evaluation system for pupils.
- Support for Municipal Education Providers: Cito helps teachers and students in naturalisation programs – providing tools and assistance from the point of intake to successful completion.
- Vocational Testing and Training: for students in teacher-training colleges.
- Ministry of Justice Certification: Cito annually certifies around 5,000 special criminal investigators.
- Real Estate Agent Certification: Cito helps examine and certify Dutch real estate agents.
In addition to serving many groups, organizations and individuals in the Netherlands, Cito acts as an advisor to the international educational community — providing advice on the introduction and modernisation of standardised testing and examination systems, training for international educators and support for educational reform.
