Monitoring Examinations
Exams at Community Colleges in the Netherlands are officially audited, and are accredited if the audit shows that the official standards have been met. Cito offers help on the road to accreditation. Cito has developed a so-called Quality Monitor: a computer program measuring the quality of examinations by means of self-evaluation.
If an audit shows that the examinations set by ROCs are inadequate, ROCs run the risk of losing their right to examine their students. The Quality Monitor developed by Cito is based on the official standards and, as such, is a very useful instrument for self-evaluation. The evaluation will show what sort of action is needed to bring the examinations up to standard. It will also show who should take action and when action should take place.
Advisory service
The Quality Monitor, which has been extensively pre-tested, is part of an advisory service offered by Cito. The service provides a monitor for self-evaluation, followed by analysis and advice. When the Quality Monitor detects serious deficiencies in examinations, calling for extra training, Cito offers tailor-made courses and consultancy.
